Colored Pencil Artist - S. Belle-Isle - Explores Drawing Flowers - (Lily & Tulip)

If you've ever wondered why so many artists are excited with colored pencil, all you have to do is study the detail, color drama, and fluid-looking application of Prismacolor wax pencils in my flower drawing of a bouquet of lilies titled  "Crystal Clear" to answer this question.

There are so many surfaces with which to parlay my thirst for drawing and artistic expression. The surface used to produce "Crystal Clear" is a plastic-like vellum. It has a light abrasive surface that accepts wax, clay based, & graphite pencils.  Color can be worked on both sides so when one side quits (and it does), the other side is raring to go to create deep, luscious color for drawing your favorite flower.

Colored pencil flower drawings with all the detail and photo-realism you can handle is only a pencil point away with the right pencils and surface. Wax based pencils and a plastic coated surface are exciting tools for colored pencil drawings.
